1. THE RACE

The Salomon Run Barcelona is a running event with several races of varying distances – 10K, 5K, Family 5K and a vertical race.

The Salomon Run Barcelona consists of two races around the Montjuïc mountain, passing through the steps, parks, streets, and various sites of this emblematic area of the city of Barcelona.

The course will be 5 km with a gradient of 109 m, or 10 km with a gradient of 299 m, with step sections, dirt sections, tarmac sections, and paths featuring some steep uphill and downhill stretches.

Family Race: The itinerary will be the same as that of the standard 5K distance, adapted so that all members of the family can enjoy it at their own pace.
It is necessary to run the race, but the option of walking in the most complicated sections is allowed.

The day will end with the Vertical Salomon Run.

2. REGISTRATION

Registration can be done online through the website: www.salomonrunbarcelona.com 

Registration includes race bib, timing, medical services, liquid refreshments during the race, liquid and solid refreshments at the end of the race, and a commemorative gift.

FAMILY 5K:

Exclusive participation for families:
This modality is intended exclusively for family groups composed of 2 to 8 people.
Each group should include at least one adult and one child.

Registration requirements:
The minor’s surname must match that of the adult who registers him, as a requirement to validate the registration.

The bibs will be handed out:

Those registered can pick up their race bibs at the Salomon shop in Barcelona (Rambla Catalunya, 54) from 8 to 11 April:

  • Tuesday 8: between 11:00 and 9:00p.m.
  • Wednesday 9: between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
  • Thursday 10: between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
  • Friday 11: between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The remaining registered runners can pick up their race bibs at the Plaça de Puig i Cadafalch in Montjuïc (start/finish area) on Saturday 12 April or on the day of the race at the registration tent.

All participants must wear their race bibs at the front in a clearly visible place. The organisers will provide safety pins.

3. ETHICS AND VALUES

The Salomon Run Barcelona is based on ethics and essential values, which are shared by runners, sponsors, volunteers and organisers, and this commitment is certified by the Biosphere seal.

3.1. Eco-responsibility
Do not drop litter in natural areas, use the available containers. Respect the flora and fauna, and strictly follow the marked route without using short cuts. Wherever possible, the organisation will use reusable or recyclable material and will perform selective collection (batteries, paper, plastic, etc.). The route marking, carried out on foot, will be removed on the same day. The route will be cleaned up immediately after the last runner has passed. Paper communication will be reduced to a minimum, prioritising electronic media.

3.2. Solidarity
Respect for runners, volunteers, sponsors, and the crowd are key aspects of the Salomon Run Barcelona.

4. CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

4.1. Minimum age: 16 (on the day of the race).

4.2. Registration: Registration must have been carried out correctly. It implies the participant’s conformity with these regulations.

4.3. Equipment: Each runner must be equipped with the material that they consider appropriate to cope with the conditions of the race according to their own condition, the weather, and the course.

EQUIPMENT A (compulsory)
• Running shoes that cover the entire foot.

EQUIPMENT B (according to weather forecast)
• Cap, neck warmer, or similar clothing.

4.4. Insurance:
4.4.1. The organisers will have third-party liability insurance in force according to current regulations.
4.4.2. Participants must have a minimum accident insurance policy that covers the activity. Participants who do not have a federation licence for this sport or any other type of insurance policy must take it out at the time of registration.

4.5. Categories and prizes
There are 3 male and 3 female categories for each distance, with the following age distribution: Junior (16-18 years old), Absolute, Master (over 40 years old).
There will be a trophy for the three first places in each category and distance.

Non-competitive nature: The 5K Family is not a competitive event; the objective is to enjoy the course in a family and recreational environment. No official classifications or times will be awarded.

4.6. Money-back guarantee
The organisation offers a Money-Back Guarantee according to which 100% of the registration fee will be refunded to all runners who have hired this service at the time of registration. To be eligible for the refund, the runner must be notified no later than 7 days before the race.

5. CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION

5.1. Cancellation conditions: Any cancellation of registration must be made via e-mail at [email protected]. Cancellations by telephone will not be accepted. Refund of the registration fee will be paid by crediting the card used at the time of registration, in accordance with the following conditions.

6. RESPONSIBILITIES

6.1. Participants and the organisers are subject to Spanish Royal Decree 1428/2003, of 21 November, which governs the General Road Traffic Regulations, and more specifically article 14 of annex 2.

6.2. Participants accept the regulations and exempt the organisers from all responsibilities in the event of accident, material damage or bodily harm suffered during, before, or after the competition.

6.3. Participants compete at their own free will at all times. They are informed that participation in this sporting event involves a risk of injury, ranging from minor injury to death. Any type of harm suffered during the race, including, but not limited to, that caused by falls (for whatever reason), run-overs, health problems resulting from the activity, illness, death, injuries (regardless of their severity) caused by fauna or flora, etc., or damage to equipment, including loss, destruction, breakage, theft or loss, due to sporting accidents or due to the dynamics of the activity itself is at the participant’s own risk.

6.4. Participants are obliged to always proceed safely. They are responsible for their actions and assume the risk of the activity and the environment. This type of competition, which takes place in the natural environment, in places that are difficult to control and access, implies an additional risk for the participants. Therefore, participants take part at their own free will and on their own initiative, being aware of and assuming the risks and consequences inherent to participating in this event.

7. SAFETY

7.1. The organisers will place specialised controls along the route to ensure the safety of the participants. It is compulsory to follow the instructions of such personnel, who will be suitably identified.

7.2. Medical and ambulance staff will be available at strategic points along the route to provide assistance if needed.

7.3. There will be a broom team in charge of closing the race and collecting all the marks of the race after its passage. If a participant falls further behind the broom team, no marks will be found.

7.4. In the event of adverse weather conditions or force majeure, the organisers reserve the right to suspend, neutralise, or modify the time slots and/or the route and refreshments. In this case, the registration fee will not be refunded.

8. RACE MANAGEMENT

8.1. Career management may withdraw a runner from the competition if they consider the runner’s physical or technical abilities to be impaired due to fatigue, if they do not have the obligatory equipment, or if they are not in a suitable condition to continue the race.

8.2. Career management may suspend, shorten, neutralise, or stop the race for safety purposes or for reasons of force majeure beyond their control (weather, external causes, etc.).

8.3. The organisers reserve the right to modify the rules of the event or to suspend it in the event of an unforeseen circumstance or force majeure.

9. CHECKPOINTS

The course must be followed in accordance with the markers and in the specified direction. For safety, sporting, and environmental reasons, it is not permitted to leave the marked route. In case of doing so and not following the marked route, the race management may disqualify the participant.

10. START/FINISH CHECKPOINT

Before the start, a check will be conducted for participants to gain access to the start area. Verification of bibs. All or part of the compulsory material may be checked.

11. BIBS

11.1. An ID document with a photograph must be shown in order to collect the race bib. It is not permitted to exchange the race bib with another person. In any event, neither the race bib nor the badges will be sent to the runner’s home address in the event of failure to take part in the race.

11.2. Participants must wear the race bib provided by the organisers at all times. The bib must be placed on the front and must always be visible. It may not be cut, folded, covered, or modified.

12. FINISHER

All participants who complete the distance of the race for which they have registered within the established time limit will be considered Finishers.

13. IMAGE RIGHTS

By registering, all participants waive the right to use their image rights and authorise the organisers and their sponsors to freely use and publish any photograph or video recorded in the context of the race.

14. TIMING

14.1. It is compulsory to go through all the checkpoints provided for this purpose, including the start and finish line.

14.2. If the race has to be interrupted and suspended at any point along the route, the classification will be determined according to the order and time of arrival at the point of interruption or, otherwise, at the last checkpoint passed through.

15. WEATHER

In the event of adverse weather conditions or force majeure, the organisers reserve the right to suspend, neutralise, or modify the time slots and/or the route and refreshment points. In this case, the registration fee will not be refunded.

16. DROP-OUTS

16.1. Voluntary: Except in the event of injury, it is only possible to drop out at a checkpoint. If this point is not accessible by vehicle, the runner must use their own means to reach the nearest evacuation point. It is forbidden to leave the marked course without informing the organisers and without being duly authorised to do so. It is compulsory to sign in if it is a timing checkpoint.

16.2. Compulsory: The organisers may temporarily stop a runner or force them to drop out of the race if they consider that their condition endangers their physical integrity or safety.

17. PENALTIES

A penalty from three minutes up to disqualification may be imposed:

  • For leaving the control areas (100m +/-)
  • For failing to follow the signposting of the course, voluntarily or otherwise
  • For the bib not being visible or having been tampered with
  • For missing the start
  • For unsporting behaviour: e.g. failing to assist another competitor who needs help; failure to carry or use the required equipment
  • Failure to respect the instructions of the organisers.

18. CLAIMS

Claims must be made in writing and ratified with the name and bib number of the claimant at the finish line or when the provisional results are published. A deposit of up to 20 Euro may be required, which will be reimbursed if the case is accepted. Claims can be made up to one hour after the publication of the provisional results.

19. SPECIFIC REGULATIONS

19.1. These regulations are generic to the Salomon Run Barcelona event and apply to all the races that take place.

19.2. Each race may have its own specific regulations which define the most technical aspects of the rules and are an extension of these regulations as regards time limits, maximum race time, compulsory equipment, and categories.
