More than 1600 stairs, a combination of pavement, trails and forest area, a few kilometers in ‘El Poble Espanyol’ and amazing views. Salomon Run is back on April 9th with its recipe of being a fun different urban race that goes through the most emblematic spots of Montjuïc. It’s a race with an unlike philosophy, full of adventure: flights of stairs, hills, incline and breathtaking spots of Barcelona. Montjuïc will be once again the setting of the 10km race which will take you step by step to the sky of the city.
“It’s an amusing race. You run, enjoy, suffer… You can find the same spirit when you do trail running but in the city: you discover new corners and have to watch your steps”, explain the two winners of the last edition, Greg Vollet and Marc Traserra.
9:30am, April 9th, the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc will welcome runners of all levels who are looking for a different challenge in the city. After a demanding beginning with a flight of stairs, the MNAC and the magic stairs of Jean Forestier the participants will run to the ‘Jardins de Joan Maragall’ and the Olympic Stadium to finally arrive to one of the most special parts of the race: ‘el Poble Espanyol’. Salomon Run 4th edition will be once again one of the few races that gets into one of the most unique places of Montjuïc. Touristic but at the same time unknown, the race will show its houses, streets, squares and craftsman shops to the participants. “Enter into ‘El Poble Espanyol’ adds fun to a race that is already different to the other 10km races of Barcelona” points out Jes Bonet, winner of the women’s category in 2015 and 2016. The incline, hills, stairs, views and different paths make the race an adventure.
In its fourth edition, the price is the same as last year: 16€ with a technical Salomon t-shirt for man/woman, timing chip single use, medical service, cloakroom and provisioning in the finish line. Registrations are already open in www.salomonrunbarcelona.com and limited to 2500 runners.
In addition to the race, Salomon will organize training sessions for the participants who want to discover the route. The brand is also preparing a surprise that will be announced in the following weeks and will finish up a day full of adventure.
